Aside from their aesthetic appeal, oak wooden wall panels are also designed to offer superior sound and temperature insulation. In particular, wooden wall panels are excellent at reducing noise and echoes, which is perfect if you want quiet and privacy by isolating rooms acoustically.

Be wary of any businesses claiming their wood veneer panels are Group 1 fire rated, it is not possible for standard real wood veneer panels to get that rating. Ask for their fire report and look for "wood veneer" instead of "wood colour" (hint: you won't see it). We prefer to not lie to customers about something so important.

Fabulous outcome for our feature wall. Added contrast to the ‘Wattyl Ember Grey’ wall & blended warmly with the other side ‘Wattyl Moccacino’. DIY advice would be to try to space gaps evenly around a window. Cutting the felt is so much easier than having to cut timbers. Lesson learnt 😉

Super happy with my purchase. The bedroom looks exceptional with 5 panels covering a 2.8m x 2.8m back wall. I've added smart led lighting also for an added effect and now the bedroom has an added luxe effect. The wall panels have really enhanced the room. I'd absolutely use them again as a feature wall. I also purchased one extra panel so I was able to enhance a corner of the kitchen and they look fantastic. Very happy with how everything looks.

I installed walnut panels in our TV room. I am very happy with the result and it was pretty easy to install, but I don't tell everyone. Otherwise I won't get the credit. For this wall I decided to screw the panels to the wall but in the opposite wall where I have pocket sliding doors I won't be able to do that. Just a warning that was passed on to me by someone that made that mistake.

It took me a while to choose between the walnut and dark oak, so I ordered a few small samples first. I’m so glad I went with the dark oak! It looks amazing against the blackbutt floors and dark blue walls. Installation was surprisingly easy, and the panels cut nicely with a circular saw (just use a fine-tooth blade). They’ve reduced the echo quite a bit too. Not proper acoustic treatment, of course, but definitely a noticeable improvement!
We moved into our Innerlight sauna showroom in Camperdown . Although the saunas look beautiful on their own, the walls looked a bit drab behind them so we looked around for some solutions to improve the appearance of the walls. I found wall panels to be competitively priced and have a good product which they could deliver to me within a day or two. We've covered about 40% of our showroom walls. And it makes a huge difference. We'll probably need to get some more to finish the room, but what we've put up so far is a vast improvement. It's a quality product.

How do you cut acoustic wood panels?
A circular saw is the best way to cut the wood panels. You just need to make sure you use a fine-tooth blade (60 teeth per blade or more). These can sometimes be known as finishing blades or crosscut blades.
How do you make cut outs for power points and other fittings?
You can easily make cut outs in the panels with the right tools. Either a multitool or jigsaw can easily make internal cuts in the panels.
Can I hang a TV using a TV bracket on the panels?
We recommend installing the TV bracket first so that you can anchor it to the studs or wall behind. Then cut the panels to fit around the bracket.
Can they be installed on the ceiling?
Yes they can. We recommend installing with screws rather than adhesive if you are installing them on the ceiling. They should also be installed perpendicular to the ceiling joists to prevent sagging of the felt.
How do they finish on a corner?
You do not need to add anything for the panels at a corner. With the finish on them they also look great from the edges.
Should I use screws or adhesive to attach them to the wall?
You can use either screws or adhesive for acoustic wood panels. Screws provide a strong attachment and allow for easier removal later if needed, but will be visible. Adhesive creates a permanent finish with no visible fasteners. It can also provide security right up to the edges of the panels. For maximum security, especially on ceilings or large wall areas, a combination of both works best.
Can I install them outside?
Unfortunately not. The wood is not treated for external use. The acoustic felt backing can also deteriorate when exposed to external elements and is not a weather resistant material.
