We updated the wood grain on the smoked oak a few months ago. If you have an old sample and you want to see the new grain, please reach out, we'd be happy to send you a new sample.
Our smoked oak wall panel is perfect for adding a sleek, modern, and natural look to any residential or commercial space. Whether you want to add a modern aesthetic to your living room, a sleek and professional look to your office, or style and elegance to a retail space, wooden slat panels are a cost effective and easy-to-install solution.
You can add smoked oak wood panels to walls or ceilings to add three-dimensional drama and visual interest. As well as looking great, these wooden slat panels also feature sound absorbing backing that reduces reverberation and excessive background noise to create a quieter, more relaxing space.
You can install these panels vertically or horizontally. They are easy to install and are perfect for a DIY project. All you need is basic DIY skills and some common tools found in most home and office environments.

Fire rating: Group 3 fire rated according to latest AS ISO 9705-2003 fire test (see report here).
Be wary of any businesses claiming their wood veneer panels are Group 1 fire rated, it is not possible for standard real wood veneer panels to get that rating. Ask for their fire report and look for "wood veneer" instead of "wood colour" (hint: you won't see it). We prefer to not lie to customers about something so important.

How do you cut acoustic wood panels?
A circular saw is the best way to cut the wood panels. You just need to make sure you use a fine-tooth blade (60 teeth per blade or more). These can sometimes be known as finishing blades or crosscut blades.
How do you make cut outs for power points and other fittings?
You can easily make cut outs in the panels with the right tools. Either a multitool or jigsaw can easily make internal cuts in the panels.
Can I hang a TV using a TV bracket on the panels?
We recommend installing the TV bracket first so that you can anchor it to the studs or wall behind. Then cut the panels to fit around the bracket.
Can they be installed on the ceiling?
Yes they can. We recommend installing with screws rather than adhesive if you are installing them on the ceiling. They should also be installed perpendicular to the ceiling joists to prevent sagging of the felt.
How do they finish on a corner?
You do not need to add anything for the panels at a corner. With the finish on them they also look great from the edges.
Should I use screws or adhesive to attach them to the wall?
You can use either screws or adhesive for acoustic wood panels. Screws provide a strong attachment and allow for easier removal later if needed, but will be visible. Adhesive creates a permanent finish with no visible fasteners. It can also provide security right up to the edges of the panels. For maximum security, especially on ceilings or large wall areas, a combination of both works best.
Can I install them outside?
Unfortunately not. The wood is not treated for external use. The acoustic felt backing can also deteriorate when exposed to external elements and is not a weather resistant material.
